Welcome to Kestrels! We are a year 5/6 class with children aged 9-11. A highlight of this class is our residential trip to Fairthorne Manor. It builds confidence and teamwork skills and most importantly, it's great fun!

We believe that it is essential to develop the whole child; socially, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. All children are included and engaged by making learning practical and exciting, often by taking lessons outside. Children’s natural curiosity is sparked so they want to know more and drive the learning forward, questioning things and building on previous learning in a range of subjects. This is wonderful to see and be a part of.

Relating lessons to real-life scenarios and current affairs ensures children understand their responsibility to others and the natural world around them, enabling them to find their voice to speak passionately on several topics. This also helps prepare children for their next steps at secondary school.
